4 Browser Extensions That Will Speed Up Your Learning Dramatically

Some browser extensions can really be a game changer when it comes to learning efficiently. Internet is so pregnant with distractions, it can be hard to focus and learn as you'd like.

Here are 4 browser extensions that are an essential part of my daily life as a self-taught developer.

Block distracting websites

LeechBlock configs

You can set several configurations for different time-consuming distractions.

LeechBlock is a productivity tool that allows you to block any time-wasting website. You can enter domain names or keywords to block, control every detail on how and when to block which website, and even create different sets of websites with different conditions.

You may set up a time limit per day or a strict time schedule, define days, choose to display a timer or not, set a password... options are really endless.

LeechBlock options

These options are only a tiny part of them.

One thing I particularly like is that a website can be either completely blocked or you can only make it harder to be accessed: delaying its opening, setting up blur, fade or greyscale on it, etc.

LeechBlock blocking Facebook

Trying to access Facebook... 30 seconds of precious reassessment.

A vital browser extension to make sure you're not getting distracted during your coding sessions.

Youtube with a real learning interface

DF Youtube

Finally a clutter-free Youtube interface.

DF Youtube improves your experience of Youtube as a learning-oriented user.

It allows you to make it distraction free so that you can enjoy tutorials without getting distracted by dubious recommendations, trendings, comments or useless attention-grabbing elements.

Subscribe to the right channels, and you're good to go for a peaceful and distraction-free learning journey.

Stay informed without information overload

daily.dev is the go-to app for developers. It is basically a all-in-one news reader for developers. It helps you stay updated on all programming news with the most-praised resources by the developers community.

daily.dev

From Web3 to JavaScript, you can follow any subject you like and get yourself a new browser tab based on your interests.

Of course, you can bookmark pages, comment, filter the news by tags or sources, and sort by popular, upvoted, etc.

It also helps you with tabs management problems by gathering all articles to read in one place.

Gather your articles in one place

You need to use Notion already for this one.

If you don't like daily.dev or you're already using Notion, you can use this extension instead.

Notion is a trending productivity & and note-taking app. You can literally build anything with it, even websites. Its possibilities are really endless.

Notion Web Clipper is an extension that helps you save resources or articles into your Notion. You can choose the location you want to save it in.

Notion Web Clipper

You can easily create a link database and save anything you want automatically. Notion Web Clipper lets you change the view of the database into a list, a gallery, a table, a board, etc. Very handy!

Don't make that mistake

I plan on publishing many similar articles on Hashnode in the future. If you liked this article, consider โœ… following this blog (back to the top right corner) so you don't miss any!

It really gives me superpowers and makes me want to write even more.
